Position Summary
The primary objective of this position is to manage the Museum's non-union retiree health insurance plans. This position will be responsible for communicating retirement health plan options to active employees, pre-65 retirees and post- 65 (Medicare eligible) retirees, and deliver excellent service through written and oral communication. The position is expected to manage the day to day operations related to retiree health insurance, including close monitoring of the coordination of plan provisions with Medicare. The position will report to the Vice President of Human Resources and work closely with the Assistant Director of Benefits.

Communicate with current retirees and active employees considering retirement about currently available health insurance plans, providing clear and objective information about the options.

Provide excellent service to retirees, including responding to inquiries, managing the successful resolution of problems or complaints, and assisting retirees who are transitioning between health insurance plans or reaching Medicare eligibility.

Manage multiple retiree benefits open enrollment periods annually, including development of clear communications and thorough follow-up.

Conduct periodic retiree information sessions in conjunction with the VP for Human Resources, and the Assistant Director of Benefits ensuring that plan options are clear and understandable.

Support the delivery of retiree health benefits by establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with benefit providers.

Support the Museum's financial objectives by managing retiree health benefit budgets, preparing timely financial reports and maintaining external benchmark data for comparison.

Required Qualifications
Experience with and knowledge of federal and state employee benefit laws, rules and regulations with special attention to Medicare and the Affordable Care Act.

Experience implementing or supporting retiree health insurance plans that coordinate with Medicare as well as Medicare supplement plans.

Excellent writing and oral communication skills with the ability to work with a diverse retiree and employee population.

Experience working with at least one complex Human Resource and Payroll HRIS system, preferably ADP.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four plus years of directly related experience.
